The Collegiate Technical Investigation Skills Program (CTISP) consists of 272 hours of specialized forensic training. Photography is a critical element in the documentation of criminal investigations. Emphasis is placed on activities where participants demonstrate their ability to identify levels of details in impressions, complete fingerprint classifications according to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Henry Classification systems, and conduct sufficiency assessments for comparison exercises. Once an investigator has mastered basic forensic photography, there are advanced skills and techniques that can allow for greater effectiveness in documenting crime scenes and physical evidence. Those who conduct investigations or deal with evidence are expected to testify as expert witnesses.

This course addresses the basic concepts of photography and their application to professional investigative documentation. The Federal Criminal History Background Check totaling $40.00 is a separate fee paid directly to TEEX by the student (unless the student makes arrangements for another provider to conduct the background check).
